Clyde ButcherKate McCavittKate McCavitt, an Asian informed mixed media abstract painter, began painting in the 1980’s as a result of having immersed herself in eastern philosophies and teachings in the late 60’s and throughout the 70’s.  In her work, East meets West in a fusion of contemporary experimental water media and ancient Asian brush work iconography and influences.  Trained as a Sumi-e artist and self taught in other genres, this former corporate communications consultant succumbed at the millennial start,  to her current full time passion for making art paying homage to tranquility.
